I have installed http://cache.getlazarus.org/debs/cpugra ... -amd64.deb on Ubuntu 14.04.4 and I got these errors when running it:

Code: Select all

vincent@intel-nuc:~$ cpugraph
The program 'cpugraph' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
  (Details: serial 284 error_code 10 request_code 33 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

How can I run this application?

Can you type this in a terminal and report back with the results?

echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
echo $GTK_MODULES

Is there anything about your configuration which is unusual that you could describe?

Code: Select all

vincent@intel-nuc:~$ echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
Unity
vincent@intel-nuc:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
ubuntu
vincent@intel-nuc:~$ echo $GTK_MODULES
overlay-scrollbar:unity-gtk-module

To me the installation seems pretty normal, maybe the installation is not so complete, because I don't have many non-standard applications installed yet.

I'm unsure what's going on with your system. You are running as a user with normal rights, not super user rights or guest rights? At this point I am just guessing what the problem might be.

Yes, I am running as a normal user.

If I run sudo cpugraph, I get the same error.

Can I download the source, so I can compile it with debug information and run it in the debugger?

I'll post the source code this week with GPL license. Check back soon (I'm trying to finish another an exciting new project).
